What you need to know to sew a babydoll
1- How to sew delicate materials
How not to damage your babydoll ?
When trying your hand at sewing fine fabrics, it can be confusing to realize that they are fragile and require special treatment. Sometimes a fine fabric can get caught in the claws of your sewing machine. The solution is to use tissue paper, which you place between the claws and the fabric. This will allow the material to glide smoothly without damage. Once you’ve sewn your lace, you can gently tear off the paper, which will come away easily.

Which needle should I use to sew a babydoll ?
Using the right needle will also change your experience of sewing delicate materials. Using a universal needle is not always appropriate. Instead, we recommend using a size 70 fine needle for sewing lace or silk. With its pointed tip, it will stitch your fabric without damaging it.
As for the thread, it should be strong but fine; forget thick cotton yarns. A fine polyester thread will do just fine.
Ironing lace
It’s important to iron your work regularly between the seams, to set them and lay them down. But beware of the heat of the iron, and iron on the reverse or with a pattemouille.
